-Logan did a great job at his 18 month appointment although he doesn't much care for doctors. I guess who likes being poked and prodded?! He weighed in at 24 pounds 8 ounces and measured 33 inches. Still tall and skinny! The doctor said that everything sounded and looked good. Next appt. set at 2 years!
-Logan's language continues to take off! He says a ton of words and they are now taking the form of sentences. The only problem is you can usually only understand 1 or 2 of the words :) Most of Logan's sentences revolve around animals or food! The new animals in his repertoire include bees, frogs, and peacocks. His new favorite food terms include: pizza, cake, and cheese...that's Mama's boy ;)
-Logan is definitely happiest when outside. He enjoys everything about the great outdoors. He loves looking for geese, squirrels, birds, frogs, etc. We recently took some bread out to our pier to feed the geese. Logan was ob-sessed. He was cracking up as he tossed each chunk of bread into the water and watched a goose snatch it up. Logan also has some new outdoor toys thanks to his wonderful grandparents. He has his very own electric motorcycle, as well as a slide, a sand and water table, and a picnic table. It's going to be a fun summer!
-As of a few hours ago, Logan graduated from swim class, and we have the certificate to prove it. Tonight was his last class, and it was by far his best. It might of had something to do with the hot weather outside, but Logan didn't mind getting into the cold water. He was splashing and smiling during class, also he still is not big on kicking. His favorite part is the end of class when we go over to the other pool and play with the hoses and go down the slides.
-Logan's best friends include: Elmo, Cookie, Ernie, Bert, the Count (referred to as Ah Ah Ah), Abby, Zoe, Big Bird, Snuffy, Grover, and most recently, Honker. Logan knows all these friends by name and continues to carry them around the house. He loves watching them "eat" and putting them down for "night night." This coming weekend, we are taking Logan to see Sesame Street Live at the Rosemont. We are so excited to see his reaction!
-Books are still Logan's indoor activity of choice. He will on occasion want to play with Play Doh or scribble with crayons for a few minutes, but he will spend hours looking at books. He loves being read to and will participate in his favorites. As a teacher, this makes me very happy :) He will also sit by himself and flip through book after book.
-I think the whole Maltz family is getting the summer itch. I think it's going to be a fun one! We already have a pool pass and we are planning to sign up for at least one class. Other than that, our summer will likely be filled with playing outdoors and meeting up with family and friends. I can't wait!
And finally, some pics of Logan and his new ride...
