-Logan continues to evolve into a little boy, rather than a baby. His communication keeps growing by leaps and bounds. At this point, there aren't many words that Logan doesn't know. He uses mostly nouns and adjectives, but I'm sure that's the case with most beginning talkers. He can name every food that he eats, every animal that he's seen, and pretty much any person that he has met. He will say a bunch of 3-5 word sentences and will repeat everything. He has such a good memory as well! Example, we went to our friend Sam's house in Chicago about a month ago. Now, whenever I talk about Sam, he will say "Sam in Chicago." We will ask him if he wants to play hop scotch, and he will say, "chalk, rock, Abby." (He likes to play with our neighbor Abby).
-Logan still loves music. We have been going to the library regularly, and they have a great collection of Sesame Street CDs. We have been checking out a new one every few weeks. This makes Logan look forward to car rides! He is even starting to sing along with some simple tunes. The one song he does NOT like, however, is Happy Birthday. He used to love it; we would sing it all the time. We would sing it about Mama, Dada, Papa, Bubbe, Elmo, Cookie, etc. Then we went to a birthday party and sang it. Logan screamed hysterically! It was not a fluke because the past 5ish parties we have been to Logan has cried throughout the entire song. It's not the dark room or the candles because he doesn't mind those. The only explanation we can think of is that Logan knows the party is almost over? You would think he would like the song because it means he gets cake! We will have to get his reaction on video in a couple months at his party.
-Logan is adjusting being back at school a few days a week. He is definitely more tired on daycare days. He naps for about 2 hours there, which is probably good for most kids, but Logan naps 3-4 hours at home. We are sad though because Logan's lead teacher's last day was Friday. Logan really liked her. When we were saying goodbye, she asked Logan for a hug and he ran and jumped into her arms. She started crying, so of course I did too. Logan is going to have many teachers throughout his life, but it's so nice when you get a good one. It helped remind me how much of an impact teachers have!
-Since I haven't done it for a while, let's talk teeth. Logan now has 18! He may have more, but he does not like Mom to look inside his mouth. He has his top two 2 year molars and we are waiting on the bottom two to pop through. It definitely makes eating a lot easier. He is finally chomping on raw carrots without a problem.
-Logan loves playing at the park and is getting more independent, even though it makes me very nervous! He will go down all the slides on his own, and just the other day he climbed up the big swirly slide without any help! Kids grow up too quickly!
-Logan is getting better with number and colors, although he has his favorites. His default color is green and his default number is 2 or 3.
-Playing outside with the neighborhood kids is becoming even more fun. Logan is really enjoying playing games like simon says, red light green light, and make believe. He joins right in with the bigger kids and really holds his own!
Here are some pictures from the past month...
Logan has been more fond of vegetables lately. He loves tomatoes and cucumbers from Papa's garden...
Logan had fun at Pump it Up for one of his friend's second bday party. He loved playing baseball and his mommy and daddy loved shooting balls at each other. He cried during Happy Birthday but enjoyed the cake afterwards...
Logan got to take a balloon, which he proudly carried down the streets of Chicago...
Uh oh, where'd it go?!
