It's funny because I feel like Logan waited until his Mommy was on summer vacation in order to reach new milestones. Or....maybe he was doing all these things before and no one was telling me in order to prevent me from feeling bad :) These are all minor things and people who have never been parents might not understand the significance, but as a parent these things are very exciting!
On Thursday, Logan went from lying down to sitting all on his own. He was on his side, pushed himself up with his arm and scooted his legs around. Ta-da! He's only done it a couple other times since.
Then yesterday, we were watching the Blackhawks parade on TV. They started playing the picture/video slideshow with music in the background, and Logan started clapping along! So cute! I thought it was a fluke, but nope. That night while we were reading Goodnight Moon (as we do every night), Logan started clapping as we said goodnight to everything. He has been clapping all day today. We were at my parents' house and he would randomly start clapping. We would all of course cheer and clap back, and he would look around to each of us and smile as if looking for approval.
Also while we were at my parents' today, he was sitting on the floor playing with Gramma with a fishbowl toy (an old favorite of my nephew's). My mom told him to put the ball in the tank and she demonstrated. He then went on to do it numerous times on his own. It was adorable. We would all cheer for him and he would get this big, goofy grin on his face.
Logan is such a good baby. Just about every single day since Logan was born Eric and I have asked each other how we got to be so lucky. I sometimes wonder if every parent feels that same way because it really is the best feeling in the world!
